The best organic chocolate plantation in the country is found here in La Fortuna at the base of the Arenal Volcano. Chocolate has a great cultural meaning and our enthusiastic guide will teach you why it was so important for our ancestors.

Get ready to recognize the different types of cacao tree, all the stages and process on how to collect it and dry it until is ready to get to the kitchen and then to us! You will be able to witness how the indigenaous use to treat the cacao and will be able to do some chocolate samples on your own and try with all different flavours, later a nice tasting of the Drink of the Gods will be displayed as well as some more chocolate tasting which is what we are looking for!

Keep an eye open while on the trail of the chocolate tour, you will see coffee plants, sugar cane and some organic and medicinal ones as well as one or other special little guests that will appear on your way.

At this point we are getting close to finish the day but not without a tasty lunch at a ranch right on the side by the river where a nice local family will welcome you and will give you the most delicious traditional meal you will have while in Costa Rica. Feel free to interact with them they are super friendly and love making new friends while teaching you about our culture in a beautiful, natural environment.
